IQNA – The king and queen of Malaysia graced a high tea event to honor the participants and judges of the country’s 64th International Al-Quran Recitation and Memorization Assembly (MTHQA).

The king and queen of Malaysia attended a high tea event in Kuala Lumpur on October 9, 2024, to honor the participants and judges of the country’s 64th International Al-Quran Recitation and Memorization Assembly (MTHQA).

 

Sultan Ibrahim and his wife Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah attended the event on Wednesday.

It was held at the Main Banquet Hall of Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur and attended by the 92 Quran memorizers and reciters from 71 countries who are competing in the MTHQA.

Also present were the members of panel of judges, Malaysia’s Religious Affairs Minister Mohd Na’im Mokhtar and a number of other senior officials.

Malaysia’s 64th International Al-Quran Recitation and Memorization Assembly got underway in a ceremony officiated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on October 5.

The contenders are competing in the two categories of Quran recitation and memorization.

There are 53 reciters and 39 memorizers vying for the top prize.

The prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the two categories is scheduled to be officiated by the king and queen of Malaysia on Saturday, October 12.
